Junkie has been sending me a few links regarding the new Knight Rider show. Seems like they are going to use a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR for KITT. And lemme tell you, it’s ugly. Not to memtion what they did to the background story.
Following that, I found out, that they’re going to do an A-Team movie. I wonder if it’ll feature Mr. T… maybe as a Nightelf Mohawk… who’ll never see much of the Outlands, since he’s afraid to fly. But I’m drifting off the topic.
And if that wouldn’t be enough, what do I have to see next? There’s a new Flash Gordon show running on Sci-Fi (yeah, such “news” aren’t as “present” here in Germany unless it’ll finally be screened here). Flash looks more like a golfer, than a football star (but never mind, they changed that anyway), Zarkov doesn’t seem to be a mad scientist, but some regular nerd, Ming is… what the fuck is he? Some guard of a sci-fi theme park? Ditched cast from space balls? And Barin? Well, there’s no Barin, but some chick named Baylin… And as far as I digged into the story, it’s a bad remix of at least half a dozen other shows and movies. As I see it, I’d even prefer Flesh Gordon over this one.
Somehow I have the bad feeling that they’re trying very hard to rape every childhood memory of tv and cinema I have. What’s next? Orlando Bloom playing the Godfather? Don’t get me wrong. I understand that changes have to be made, so it stays original. Take Miami Vice for example. The new movie was quite good (for a remake). But some things are just too far away to share the honorable title of the past.
And as the last bad news gift from Junkie today: One of my favourite authors, Terry Pratchett, stated that he got Alzheimer’s.
It’s late and I will go to bed now. Maybe when I wake up again, it’ll all turn out to be one big, bad nightmare. Either that or it’ll get worse.
