But contrary to Crystal Skull no one had anticipations, for it was the first Indy. This at least makes a psychological difference imho. But I agree with you, Temple had the best ending. The Crusade ending is great as well, storywise, and the movie my favourite of the tetralogy. Yes, the Raiders ending was a bit lacking as well. I had this very same problem with RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. The 1981 movie features my least favorite ending. CRUSADE and CRYSTAL SKULL’s endings weren’t bad, but they could have been better. I still love the TEMPLE OF DOOM ending.
