After thinking about all the things I am doing and all I plan on doing I figured one thing out. I’m never going to be bored. Well at least not in the term of finding nothing to do.

I currently have two photo shootings to review to select and edit images for publication. One of them is an important (for me at last) band shooting. And I still want to train my Gimp skills a bit more. Then there’s the 3D stuff I want to work on which also leads directly to video editing. Not to mention the to-be-filled-with-acryl-paint canvases, the soapstones in my drawer or the concept drawings for masks and stuff. That was just a general rundown on art. There’s still my kitchen to do, which is also a mayor time-killer. And what was that about writing a book? I didn’t even spend time to write some notes for at least a year. Don’t even get me started on movie reviews. Anyone remembering me writing about UAVP? Forget it. And there’s still so much to learn and do with computers. Leisure? Oh sure, I got dozens of books to read, DVDs to watch, games to play and who knows what. I’m sure some day… okay, Im not sure, I rather doubt it…

Anyway.. I’m typing these lines on a EeePC 1000H I want to test for work… yeah I know… something is rotten in the state of Denmark…

So, what’s boredom?

And what is this burnout syndrom Schoggi keeps mentioning? Is that edible? Maybe tasty even?

Boredom, shmordom… feh… that’s about as foreign to me as this chilly feeling or freezing people keep mentioning these days.

So whazzup with Big O.?

Beside work, there is my kitchen. I’m getting a new used one. Best part would be a working, non-smelling fridge (had to keep everything in boxes with the old one) and a new stove. This should get my cooking ambitions up again. Already mixing some marinades in my mind. Problem is, I have to get rid of the old kitchen and renovate the room first. But things are going more or less smoothly.

For all those who follow my photography works, check out for open eyes only. Not only have I been submitting new works, but I also launched the new website. Just took about two years to do so… and while it’s not that great, it at least doesn’t suck as much as the former one. But I’m afraid I will have to work on a new version already, since there are some minor problems with certain adblockers. Some older works are missing, but I try to reupload them as soon as I find them and some time. More shootings coming up. Regarding art, I also plan on learning a bit more about image editing. Not to manipulate my photos more, but to try some new creations. And of course, I’m not learning to shop… I’m learning to gimp. This is not new to me (example), but I think I have a lot to learn to make better images.

On another matter, I will switch to permanent signatures for my mails and works. Somehow I’ve been neglecting the matter for too long. Time to enforce it. Maybe I can finally get the university to come along with this. Have been trying to create a PKI here for years. So far it’s only a small CA for server certificates. So I will be getting more familiar with the CACert (becoming an assurer and stuff) and the DFN PKI. We’ll see.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I was a bit busy. Did a few investments. For example into a new (used) car. A VW Polo 6N, with small modifications. It’s everything I didn’t want. It’s too small, too red, too few airbags (i.e. one) and too I dunno. But it drives well, is in a very good condition for it’s age, very economical and on top of it was quite inexpensive for what it’s worth. Who knows, in a few years I might be able to sell it for the same amount. But the best part is, that I’m mobile again. No more annoying classes of children in the morning bus. Already put in a new radio with an USB port, I always wanted to do that in my old car. Now I can listen to Computerclub 2 while driving. (”You just ran a red light!” - “Shh, they’re talking ’bout Debian!”)

In other news, I finally got all parts for my HTPC. It’s assembled and now I can go on with installation and configuration. Got a little more expensive than I was planning, but I’ll make it worth it. And I already have a lot of plans for additions. Starting with some Wii-Mote utilization (I showed this to Junkie a few weeks ago and now he’s already ahead of me… dang), over to using it to control some other equipment, which, as the final stage, could be triggered by voice recognition. Not sure if I can make any of these plans real, but we’ll see.

Speaking of projects. Next week the HTPC will be running (report coming up) and in a few weeks everything should be fine, so that I can forget about the machine and just use it. There’ll be a space in my project list. Well, maybe there wont. The Dungeoneering Dad, has a list of gaming tables. That inspired me to design one myself (in Blender, so I work at stuff there again). Maybe even build it with the Horde. We’ll see. Would be so cool to play at a table like that.

Speaking of RPG. I’m the gamemaster again for a few weeks. That will be fun for a change. Now I can dig out some ideas from my old Rasundra campaign, which we never finished. Downside is, that it’s so much work… but I’ll manage somehow.
